I thought adding a little visual context to this journey would be a good place to start. My last move took me to a world of skyscrapers and taxi cabs and every cuisine imaginable. I loved that so. I love this too, but it is a little different:
The first two pictures look out and down from the top of the hill. The picture doesn't do the angle of the hill justice; it may not look too severe, but four or five trips down and back up will convince you that it is plenty steep. The third picture is the view of the house from the highway below. It is difficult to see, but there are four houses visible on the hill, and I am in the one third from the left.
If you find yourself in need of inspiration for anything just imagine you're sitting in your living room and looking out at this.
I love watching the colors of the sky change as the sun sets and the little hill goes to sleep.
Sub-blog: #pnwproblems
My best friend Blythe and I have come up with the term "pnw problems" for difficult situations that only seem to be present in the Pacific Northwest. Here is #1:
I am surrounded by beautiful hills that are so inviting and all I want to do is climb to the top of every one of them. The hill pictured below is right behind the neighbors house. What's the problem? I can't get to any of these glorious hills because people's houses are in the way and I'd have to go through their property to get to the hills! Not fun. #pnwproblems
